UNI alumnus to speak on 'Mission-Driven Business' CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- "Mission-Driven Business" will be the topic of a lecture presented by University of Northern Iowa alumnus Jim Storbeck at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, in room 246, of the Schindler Education Center on the UNI campus, as part of the Wilson Series in Business Ethics. The event is free and open to the public.
Storbeck, along with his wife Alicia, are the founders of Initial Outfitters, a home party direct sales company, and Heartstrings, a wholesaler of personalized products. Storbeck will return to his alma mater to discuss the important interactions between social involvement and entrepreneurship.
Highlighting the mutual benefits of charity and business partnerships, Storbeck will focus on his companies' partnership with Charlie's Lunch, a charity that provides meals to impoverished children in Third World countries. One hundred percent of profit from lunchboxes by Initial Outfitters, as well as extra donations of "Lunch Money," goes toward Charlie's Lunch to open and sustain lunchrooms around the world.
