'Grade Inflation' to be the topic of next UNI 'News Talk' CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- "Grade Inflation: The Symptomatology of a Failing System" will be the title of a "News Talk," from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at University Book & Supply (UBS), 1009 W. 23rd St., in Cedar Falls. The event is free and open to the public.
Presenter and discussion leader Dennis Clayson, UNI professor of marketing and Courier columnist, will discuss trends and possible causes of grade inflation in the classroom.
"News Talk" provides an opportunity to discuss the news of the day from local, regional or national newspapers and to hear the views of guest speakers such as editors, reporters, and faculty with expertise in the media. It is organized by UNI's American Democracy Project (ADP)/Executive Vice President & Provost's Office and University Book and Supply, and co-sponsored with UNI's Department of Communication Studies, Division of Student Affairs, Leadership Studies Program and Department of Political Science.
