International Education Week to be celebrated at UNI CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will celebrate International Education Week (IEW) Monday through Friday, Nov. 16 through Nov. 20. The event will be hosted through UNI's Office of International Programs, Study Abroad Center, Culture & Intensive English Program and the International Services Office.
In celebration of IEW, a variety of campus-wide events will be hosted during the week. Activities include lectures, presentations, movies, various performances, international tea and coffee tasting sessions and more. All events are open to the public. A list of all scheduled events is available at www.uni.edu/internationalprograms.
IEW, a nation-wide effort started by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, informs students about the global environment, promotes international exchanges and is aimed to attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences here in the United States, according to Nadia Korobova, UNI assistant director, International Programs. IEW encourages participation of all interested in international education and exchange activities.
