Social change workshop, co-sponsored by UNI, to take place March 31

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The workshop, "Working Together for Social Change: Developing a Personal and a Community Vision," will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Neighborhood Hub, Jubilee United Methodist Church, at the intersection of East Fourth and Newell Streets in Waterloo. The workshop will be held in the Neighborhood Hub's community hall.

Workshop participants will discuss issues such as how to better work together across different cultures and values, feel more connected and better support each other, bring hope to those in the community that feel hopeless and disenfranchised and how to connect personal inspiration and personal hopes to hopes for the future of our community. Participants will work together to create a shared vision of a transformed community.

The University of Northern Iowa Community Outreach Partnership Center, the Waterloo Neighborhood Coalition and New City Ministries of the United Methodist Church are sponsoring the workshop.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. To ensure a place at the workshop, which includes a free lunch, register by calling (319) 273-2910 or e-mail allen.hays@uni.edu.
